Phantasmal Flames UK: card list, restock and guide

· 6 min read

Phantasmal Flames is the Charizard set of the Mega Evolution series. It is small, it landed in November 2025 ahead of Christmas, and its top two cards are the same Pokémon in two rarities. That combination makes it one of the most searched sets in the UK right now. Here is the set, the card list, the products and how to buy it at retail.

What Phantasmal Flames is

Phantasmal Flames is the second main expansion of the Mega Evolution series. The English release date was 14 November 2025. The set has 94 cards in the main list and 36 secret rares, 130 in total.

That is a small set. Next to Destined Rivals at 244 or Mega Evolution at 188, a 130-card list means fewer cards to chase and a tighter theme. The theme is fire, and the mascot is Mega Charizard X.

As a main expansion, Phantasmal Flames has booster boxes. Supply is not restricted to bundles and ETBs the way it is for a special set.

The Phantasmal Flames card list

The list runs to 130 cards: numbers 1 to 94 are the main set, and 95 to 130 are the secret rares. The secret rare list is where the value sits, and it is top-heavy in a way few sets are:

  • Mega Charizard X ex special illustration rare, 125/094
  • Mega Charizard X ex Mega hyper rare, 130/094
  • Then a large gap down to the next tier, led by the regular Mega Charizard X ex at 109 and Dawn at 129

Two cards, both Mega Charizard X ex, and then a gap. That shape matters. It means the set's value on the secondary market is concentrated in one Pokémon, and the rest of the secret rare list is priced well below it. If you are opening packs, you are chasing two numbers out of 130. If you are buying singles, the card you want is obvious.

Prices for all of these move week to week. Treat any figure you see as a snapshot and check recent sold listings before you buy or sell.

The product line, and the sensible buy

The English line:

  • Booster box
  • Booster bundle
  • Elite Trainer Box, with a full-art Charcadet promo
  • Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box
  • Collection boxes
  • Build & Battle Box

The Phantasmal Flames ETB is the product people search for. The Charcadet promo is the exclusive part, along with the set sleeves. It is a fair buy at RRP and a poor one above it, because nothing else in the box is exclusive. Read are Elite Trainer Boxes worth it before buying more than one.

For packs, the booster box is the sensible buy in a main set. The booster bundle is the smaller spend. The collection boxes are promo-led, so work out the price per pack before choosing one over a bundle.

Where it sold in the UK

Phantasmal Flames went through Smyths, Argos, the supermarkets, Amazon UK and Pokémon Center UK. We have not confirmed a UK RRP for the set's products, so we do not quote one. Argos lists Mega Evolution series ETBs at £50.00 and that is a fair reference for the ETB. A listing well above it is a resale price.

Our Smyths guide, Argos guide and Amazon UK guide cover how each retailer lists and limits Pokémon product.

Hold it sealed, or open it?

Sealed: Phantasmal Flames is a main expansion with booster boxes, and that is the category least likely to hold a sealed premium. Against that, it has a Charizard mascot, a small card count and a Christmas-season launch, all of which drive demand. Demand pulls supply, and supply caps price. While the set is on shelves at RRP, RRP is the ceiling.

The case for holding rests on Charizard, and Charizard is the one Pokémon most likely to be reprinted in some other product. Our guide to which Pokémon sets hold value explains why that cuts against sealed product from the set.

Opening: two cards carry the value and there are 130 in the list. If you want a Mega Charizard X ex, price the single against the packs first. It is almost always cheaper. Sealed versus singles runs the comparison. No guarantees either way.

How to buy Phantasmal Flames at retail now

If you are searching "Phantasmal Flames restock UK", here is the practical version:

  1. Have accounts at Smyths, Argos, Amazon UK and Pokémon Center UK ready, with address and payment saved.
  2. Bookmark the product pages for the ETB, booster bundle and booster box.
  3. Use alerts. Pokémon restock alerts UK explains how they work and what they cannot do.
  4. When the alert lands, go to the product page and pay. Do not browse.
  5. Buy the allowed quantity and stop. Retailers cancel duplicate orders.

There is no timing trick. Stock lands when it lands and goes to whoever is ready.

Common questions

Will Phantasmal Flames restock in the UK?

Phantasmal Flames is a main expansion with booster boxes, so supply is wider than a special set. Nobody outside The Pokémon Company knows the print schedule. Set alerts on the ETB, bundle and booster box at the main UK retailers and buy at RRP when they appear.

How many cards are in Phantasmal Flames?

130 in total: 94 in the main list and 36 secret rares. It is one of the smaller sets of recent years, which keeps the theme tight and the chase list short. The secret rares run from 95 to 130, and the two Mega Charizard X ex cards sit near the top.

What is the most valuable card in Phantasmal Flames?

Mega Charizard X ex special illustration rare, 125/094, leads, with the Mega Charizard X ex Mega hyper rare, 130/094, second. There is a large gap to the next tier. Both are secondary-market prices that move, so check recent sold listings before buying or selling.

What promo is in the Phantasmal Flames ETB?

The Elite Trainer Box comes with a full-art Charcadet promo. Pokémon Center sold its own version. The promo and the set sleeves are the only exclusive parts, so judge the box on those, and pay RRP for it rather than a premium.

Is Phantasmal Flames worth holding sealed?

Less so than a special set. It has booster boxes, which means wide supply, and its chase card is a Charizard, which appears in other products often. Hold only what you bought at RRP and treat any rise as a bonus, not the plan.
