Offspring raffle guide: how the draws work

· 5 min read

This is the Offspring raffle guide we give new members. It covers how an Offspring draw works, what you need in place before entries open, and the mistakes that get an entry removed.

Offspring is the sneaker boutique of the Office group, with its own shops in London and concessions in department stores.

How the Offspring raffle works

Offspring runs its limited releases as draws rather than first come first served. The upcoming ones are listed on the Offspring website under launches, and each has its own page with the release, the price, the entry window and how the pair is fulfilled.

The pattern is the same each time:

  1. The launch appears on the site a few days ahead with the entry dates.
  2. Entries open for a window, typically 24 to 72 hours.
  3. You pick a size, confirm your delivery details and give a card.
  4. The window closes. Winners are drawn at random.
  5. Winners are emailed. Losers are emailed too, usually a little later.

Entering in the first minute and entering in the last hour go into the same pot. Set a reminder for the close, not the open.

What you need before entries open

  • An Offspring account made in advance. Real name, real address, a phone number you answer.
  • A card that will clear. Whether Offspring places a hold at entry or charges only on a win, the launch page says. Either way the funds have to be there. A card that fails at entry is an entry that never happened.
  • A billing address that matches the card. The most common quiet failure.
  • Your size decided. One size per entry, fixed once the window closes.

The payment side

How payment is taken can differ between releases, and the launch page says. If a pre-authorisation is placed at entry, your bank shows the full price as pending until the draw is done. If you lose, the hold drops off within a few days depending on the bank. If you win, it becomes the charge.

Either way the practical rule is the same. Have the money on the card from the moment you enter to the moment the result lands.

Odds, honestly

Offspring gets boutique allocations. A hyped release might be a few dozen pairs across sizes, and entries run into the thousands. Your odds on any single Offspring draw are poor, and nothing on your side changes that.

What changes over a year is how many draws you enter. If a pair is on Offspring, Size?, Footpatrol, JD and End, one honest entry at each is five chances instead of one.

Why Offspring removes entries

Offspring sits inside the Office group. Assume that duplicate checks run across both names and that entries sharing details are treated as one person.

Things that get entries removed:

  • The same delivery address on more than one account.
  • A card already used on another entry for the same release.
  • A billing address that does not match the card.
  • A parcel forwarder or reshipping warehouse as the delivery address.

When a duplicate is found the usual outcome is that all of the matching entries go, not just the extra one. One entry, real details, done.

After you win

The win email says what happens next. If a hold was placed, the charge converts and you wait for dispatch. If payment is due, pay within the stated time. For collection-only launches, bring the confirmation and photo ID to the shop named on the page and collect within the window, or the pair goes back on sale.

Is an Offspring win worth money?

Sometimes. Check what the pair sells for before you enter, not after. A release that resells close to retail leaves nothing after fees and postage. One that resells well above retail is worth the minute it takes to enter.

If you want the shoes to wear, none of that matters.

Common questions

How do you enter an Offspring raffle?

Open the launches page on the Offspring website, sign in to an account with your real details, pick the release and your size, and confirm your delivery address and card. The launch page states the entry window and how payment is handled. Winners are drawn after the window closes.

Does Offspring charge you when you enter a raffle?

It depends on the release, and the launch page says which. Some Offspring draws place a pre-authorisation for the full price at entry, which is released if you lose. Others charge winners only, with a payment deadline in the win email. Have the funds available either way.

Can I enter an Offspring raffle more than once?

No. Offspring is part of the Office group and entries that share a name, address, card or phone number are treated as one person. Duplicates are normally all removed rather than one kept, and repeat attempts risk the account. One honest entry per person is the approach that lasts.

When does Offspring announce raffle winners?

Winners usually hear by email within a day or two of the entry window closing. Losing entries also get an email, sometimes later. If you have heard nothing after a few days, check your spam folder and your account on the site before assuming you lost.

Are Offspring raffle odds better than JD Sports?

Per pair, no, because the allocation is far smaller. Per entrant, they are often a little better, because fewer people know to enter Offspring. Neither is good on its own. Entering both, and every other retailer with the pair, is what improves your chances.

Where this fits

Offspring is one of the boutiques in UK sneaker raffles explained, which covers which retailers are worth your time. The chains with the same pair are in the JD Sports, Size? and Footpatrol guides, and End Clothing usually has the largest allocation of the online shops. Paragn Network members get raffle reminders and a release calendar, which is what stops people missing the close.
